Job Summary
Millwright responsibilities include installing, assembling, dismantling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of complex machinery (e.g., crushers, mills, exhaust fans, generators, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors) to exact specifications. The role requires using precision leveling and alignment tools, reading blueprints and drawings, fabricating and installing parts, rigging and hoisting equipment, preventative maintenance, and strict adherence to safety guidelines. Preferred candidates have experience reading schematics/engineering specifications, industrial hand and power tools, and at least several years of millwright and industrial/mining construction experience; strong problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership capabilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools such as lasers, ultrasonic measuring and alignment tools, plumb bobs, cutting torches, welding machines, hydraulic torch wrenches, hydraulic stud tensioners, soldering guns, and metalworking equipment, including lathes and grinding machines
- Organization and time management
- Problem-solving abilities
- Manual dexterity
- Knowledge of math concepts, geometry, and layout
- Ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions
- Ability to work with others – team player
- Ability to work independently – minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform in varied environments including heights and outdoors
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Adherence to PPE requirements
- Understanding of safety regulations
