Job Summary
Plan, lay-out, and perform mechanical equipment setting, installation, alignment, and maintenance work in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Maintain positive working relationships with the crew, produce high-quality work safely and productively, and provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, and information are available. Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, and inefficient material storage while seeking opportunities to share knowledge and teach others. Inspect subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, explain deficiencies, and take corrective action. Read and understand drawings, specifications, and safety standards while utilizing all relevant trade tools and equipment. Perform hard physical work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperatures and outside conditions, including climbing frameworks and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Comply with all safety standards and procedures while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman
- Must have a minimum of three years' (level I), four years' (level II), five years' (level III) and six plus years' (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry
- Must have an in-depth understanding of the millwright trade
- Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards
- Must be able to effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
- Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
- Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
