Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary machinery and mechanical equipment under the Mechanical Superintendent. Read blueprints, shop drawings, and rigging plans while operating builders' levels, laser levels, and hoisting equipment. Troubleshoot drive mechanisms, pumps, mixers, and other process equipment. Observe and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safe lifting procedures and WHMIS requirements. Transport job materials and perform minor duties of other trades where certification is not required. Maintain current job knowledge and adapt to changing circumstances on the Water Pollution Control Plant project in Kemptville, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a ticketed Journeyperson Millwright
- 3-5 years of experience working in the heavy construction environment
- Possess personal basic hand tools
- Must have hoisting and rigging experience
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Valid WHMIS, Aerial Work Platform and Fall Arrest certificates are required
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and shop drawings
- Must be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair stationary machinery and mechanical equipment
- Must be proficient at rigging and hoisting
- Must be able to operate builders level/laser level
- Experience installing/plumb/level of drive mechanisms, pumps, mixers and various other process equipment
