Job Summary
Millwright II is responsible for the independent installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment to support efficient operations and minimize downtime. The role applies advanced mechanical and electrical knowledge to diagnose equipment failures, identify corrective actions, and execute repairs that restore and improve functionality. It involves interpreting complex blueprints and schematics, documenting procedures for new jobs and rebuilds, and collaborating with engineering, operations support, and product development to ensure optimal equipment performance. The position may train and mentor other Millwrights, serve as a lead on projects, support safety investigations, use maintenance systems to manage work orders and parts, and contribute to safety, culture, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires travel up to 30% and schedules include evenings (7:00pm–5:00am) Sunday through Thursday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of machine repair experience with proven performance
- Valid chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic control systems
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues
- Experience with fabrication and field fitting of components
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, ARC, air arcing)
- Ability to interpret engineered drawings and develop maintenance procedures and documentation
- Experience with maintenance planning or work order systems
- Safety certifications including LOTO and hot work authorization (PAI)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor, industrial, and elevated environments
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and machine rebuilding
