Job Summary
Conduct routine daily maintenance on machines, installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment to uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards. Actively participate in Drax Safety culture through DATS conversations, observations, and training, while utilizing SDS for chemical safety education and maintaining high housekeeping standards. Assist in shutdown and strategic capital project planning, ensuring timeliness and safety in collaboration with team members. Mentor Millwright Apprentices in professional development and champion the safety program. Requires Red Seal certification and 5+ years in heavy industry. Hourly wage of $50.69 in Lavington, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certified Millwright
- 5+ years in heavy industry
- Valid Driver's license
- Independent worker
- Adaptable to schedule changes
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years in heavy industry (pellet, particle board, or fibre board preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with wet precipitators and heavy industry operations
- Proficient in mobile equipment operation and work order systems
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
