Job Summary
Conduct routine daily maintenance on machines, installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment while collaborating with other trades. Actively participate in Drax Safety culture through DATS conversations, observations, and training, utilizing SDS for chemical safety and maintaining high housekeeping standards. Assist in shutdown and strategic capital project planning, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness. Mentor Millwright Apprentices in professional development and champion the Drax Safety Program. Communicate clearly on company radios and engage with the OH&S Committee. Requires Red Seal certification and 5+ years in heavy industry. Hourly wage $50.69 in Lavington, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certified Millwright
- 5+ years in heavy industry
- Valid Driver's license
- Independent worker
- Adaptable to schedule changes
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years in heavy industry (pellet, particle board, or fibre board preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with wet precipitators and heavy industry operations
- Proficient in mobile equipment operation and work order systems
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
