Job Summary
Conduct routine daily maintenance on machines, installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment to uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards. Actively participate in safety culture through DATS conversations, observations, and training while utilizing SDS for chemical safety protocols. Assist in shutdown and strategic capital projects, planning and executing tasks in collaboration with team members. Mentor Millwright Apprentices in professional development and champion the Drax Safety Program. Maintain high housekeeping standards and communicate clearly on company radios in line with procedures. Engage actively in Drax's OH&S Committee and complete Plant Operator Development Program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certified Millwright
- 5+ years in heavy industry
- Valid Driver's license
- Independent worker
- Adaptable to schedule changes
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years in heavy industry (pellet, particle board, or fibre board preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with wet precipitators and heavy industry operations
- Proficient in mobile equipment operation
- Proficient in work order systems
