Job Summary
Conduct routine daily maintenance on machines, installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment while collaborating with other trades. Actively participate in safety culture through DATS conversations, observations, and training, utilizing SDS for chemical safety protocols. Engage in shutdown and strategic capital projects, assisting with planning and execution to ensure safety, quality, and timeliness. Mentor Millwright apprentices and support leadership in training employees, ensuring proper documentation and competence. Maintain high housekeeping standards and communicate clearly on company radios in line with procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certified Millwright
- 5+ years in heavy industry
- Valid Driver's license
- Independent worker
- Adaptable to schedule changes
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years in heavy industry (pellet, particle board, or fibre board preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with wet precipitators and heavy industry operations
- Proficient in mobile equipment operation
- Proficient in work order systems
