Millwright

Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures for installing, aligning, and dismantling industrial machinery such as pumps, fans, and generators. Operate hoisting devices including cranes and tractors to position equipment, while inspecting systems for irregularities and malfunctions. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic control systems. Adjust machinery, repair defective parts, and operate machine tools like lathes and grinders to fabricate components. Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment, assist with foundation construction, and assemble machinery using hand tools, power tools, and welding. Requires completion of a four-year Millwright apprenticeship and five years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
