Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and replace all equipment, facilities, and rolling stock at AgState locations, including mills, scales, drives, conveyors, bearings, and pipe systems. Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, conduct visual inspections, test machinery, and document all actions taken and repairs made. Install, dismantle defective machines, and perform repairs using hand tools, welding equipment, cutting torches, and company vehicles. Operate forklifts, pay loaders, and trucks while adhering to safety policies and working in dust-filled environments. Travel to various sites as needed and work overtime when required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or three to five years related experience or training
- Valid Iowa's driver's license
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Capability to learn how to safely operate various types of equipment such as forklifts, pay loaders, trucks, and other equipment following necessary training according to AgState
- Ability to wear a respirator when required
- Ability to work in dust filled environments as needed
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb, withstand exposure to heights, hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to minimum height of 36"
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed
