Job Summary
Produce detailed millwork shop drawings, elevations, and construction documents for custom cabinetry and woodworking projects. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and shop fabricators to translate design intent into accurate technical drawings. Develop and maintain CAD/drafting files for custom millwork, built-ins, and architectural woodworking while reviewing specifications and blueprints to ensure drawing accuracy. Perform material takeoffs for estimating lumber, hardware, and component quantities, and identify design conflicts or constructability issues prior to fabrication. Update and revise drawings based on field conditions, client feedback, or engineering changes. Requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, or Microvellum, along with an associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting or engineering technology.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in millwork drafting, architectural woodworking, or custom cabinetry design
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar)
- Strong understanding of wood joinery, cabinet construction methods, and millwork standards
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communicator who can work cross-functionally with shop and design teams
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
