Mill Turn Machinist II - 2nd Shift

Machinist II on 2nd shift operating Nakamura-Tome NTRX-300L/NTRX-300. Duties include loading/unloading, starting/stopping machines, monitoring feeds and speeds, inspecting gauges and finished work-pieces for conformance, detecting tool wear and machine issues, measuring dimensions with precision instruments, calculating and setting machine movements per drawings, adjusting feeds/tools/programs for tool changes or faults, setting up fixtures/tools/programs for first-run and repeat parts, and performing related duties. Requires knowledge of machine tools, ability to adjust controls to exact positions, determine needed tools/equipment, detect machine errors, identify causes of operating errors, strong mathematics (trigonometry) and metallurgy understanding, ability to write simple programs, extensive knowledge of probe routines and machine macros. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; 6-10 years of relevant experience; 5S, advanced blueprint reading, modern production systems, inspection techniques for machinists, SPC charts and tools, GD&T, flow manufacturing, tooling fixtures, and other related qualifications. Benefits include an 8% second-shift differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus (half after 30 days, remainder after 60 days). Location: Tempe, AZ (on-site).
