Job Summary
Maintain and repair heavy construction and industrial equipment at a steel-mill setting. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, drivetrains, and other mechanical components; interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics; aligning, calibrating, and testing components post-repair; maintaining accurate records; using diagnostic software; ensuring DOT, OSHA, and EPA compliance; maintaining a safe work area; responding to emergency repairs; and collaborating with the team to minimize downtime. Requires 1+ year of relevant experience, tools, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver’s license. Education: High school diploma or GED. Job Type: Full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction or industrial equipment
- Proficiency in diesel engine repair, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Must have own hand tools and basic power tools applicable to the role
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly; able to work in various outdoor weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
