Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment, perform minor maintenance and repairs, and ensure equipment inspection reports are completed each shift. Inspect scrap deliveries for quality and non-conformance, troubleshoot work-related problems, and assist maintenance personnel when requested. Uphold safety culture by following regulations, wearing proper PPE, and conducting daily housekeeping duties. Communicate production issues to operations support and carry out tasks as directed in a safe, timely manner. Work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays, with overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
- Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to temperature extremes, chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
