Job Summary
Operate computer-programmed batching systems to manufacture feed while maintaining required documentation across all departments. After training, run process equipment including powered industrial vehicles, assist in start-up and shut-down cycles, and troubleshoot machinery for corrective actions. Perform quality duties by sampling inbound and outbound loads, conduct general housekeeping to meet OSHA standards, and climb ladders up to 100 feet for maintenance and inventory. Execute daily safety inspections, perform basic mathematical calculations, and complete production paperwork. Night shift work includes overtime, weekends, and holidays; previous feed/agricultural experience is desired.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
- One (1) to two (2) years' work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 55 pounds
- Ability to perform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazards
- Ability to work flexibly and varying work schedules including overtime as needed
- Ability to perform basic mathematical problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; problem solve
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to demonstrate good organization skills
- Ability to perform troubleshooting on mill machinery
- Ability to complete production paperwork and quality documents
- Ability to climb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties
- Ability to perform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards
- Ability to perform necessary work as assigned in regard to general mill operations
- Ability to utilize computer programmed batching system to receive and manufacture feed
- Ability to maintain required documentation associated with all departments
- Ability to assist in start-up and shut down of operations
- Ability to assist in the troubleshooting of processes and equipment operation and provide in-put for corrective actions
- Ability to perform quality duties including but not limited to sampling inbound and outbound loads as well as production paperwork
- Ability to perform related duties and/or special projects as assigned
- Ability to perform semi-skilled labor with regard to all aspects of mill maintenance and operations
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime
- Ability to work inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment
- Ability to adhere to all PPE Guidelines as established by OSHA and the company
- Ability to perform frequent standing for long period of time
- Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting and kneeling
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and carrying of up to 55 pounds
- Ability to perform frequent grasping, holding and reaching
- Ability to have constant use of overall vision
- Ability to perform frequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions
- Ability to handle frequent exposure to loud noise
- Ability to work in a dusty, muddy and slick environment
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift operation and heavy machinery experience
- Previous feed/agricultural experience
