Job Summary
Mill Labourer responsibilities include operating and maintaining mobile equipment (forklifts, Genie lifts, sweeper, L20), visually inspecting equipment, and following Mill Safe Work Procedures and lockout procedures. You’ll assist maintenance staff, perform preventative maintenance, and support QA with weekly cleaning of the Blenders. You’ll keep walkways clear, help with housekeeping to World Class standards, and relay safety incidents or equipment concerns to team leaders. The role may relieve in Strand Preparation and Finishing & Packaging, collect and recycle discarded materials, monitor propane bottles, and participate in injury-prevention activities. Strong teamwork, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various areas of the plant are required.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Valid Driver’s license
- Experience in an industrial environment an asset
- Ability to work at heights
- Strong communication skills
- Problem identification, analysis, and solution skills
- Embraces teamwork
