Job Summary
Mill Helper role in a pipe mill environment focused on learning and assisting with pipe mill operations. Responsibilities include assisting operators, setting up equipment, serving as a back-up for Pipe Mill Operators, following PPE policies and 5S procedures, maintaining equipment, inspecting for defects, and potential operation of forklift or overhead crane. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of pipe mill experience, basic reading/writing/arithmetic, manual dexterity, knowledge of mill processes and welding operations, and a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in a Pipe Mill
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
- Experience with operating automated equipment preferred
- Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices
- Knowledge of the manufacturing mill processes, procedures, and welding operation
- Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed
