Milk Lab Technician

Milk Lab Technician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) NICU Milk Lab is responsible for safe preparation of infant feedings in accordance with Human Milk Banking of North America (HMBANA) Guidelines and department policies. The technician maintains the aseptic Milk Lab environment, handles collection, storage, and inventory of breast milk, and prepares feedings daily according to orders and recipes. Responsibilities include cleaning and stocking the Milk Lab, training new staff, and ensuring compliant operation under the Milk Lab Manager. Qualifications include a High School Diploma and 1 year healthcare or food service experience; preferred Human Milk Technician Certification. The role involves equipment operation, maintaining patient-focused confidentiality, and collaborating with nursing and other departments to support safe infant nutrition.
