Military SkillBridge - Machine Shop Trainee - Remington

SkillBridge Machine Shop Trainee will gain hands-on experience in machining, equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance in a production-support environment under the guidance of experienced trainers. The program provides hands-on training in CNC machining, blueprint interpretation, and quality control, preparing transitioning service members for a career in precision manufacturing. The role is based in Lonoke, AR and is open exclusively to transitioning service members. Responsibilities include operating machine shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, belt sanders, grinders, saws, drill presses), following safety procedures, assisting with setup and operation of tools, troubleshooting mechanical failures, identifying materials, using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, Rockwell testers, dial indicators), basic soldering/brazing/welding, learning heat-treating and cutting tool usage, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting preventative maintenance. Program benefits include hands-on training in an advanced facility and exposure to mechanical systems and maintenance practices; schedule is Monday-Friday, 0800-1700, with safety and PPE requirements described. The training length is 12 weeks, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
