Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive face-to-face medical examinations, aptitude testing, and security screenings for military applicants in strict compliance with DoD and MEPS protocols. Review medical histories, lab results, and imaging to evaluate fitness for duty, rendering professional opinions on eligibility while identifying conditions impacting service. Document findings accurately in the MHS Genesis health record system and complete required reports within established timelines. Collaborate with MEPS staff to ensure smooth processing while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards. Manage multiple daily evaluations in a fast-paced environment, applying U.S. military accession standards to support the enlistment process.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certified and Board Eligible
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Board certification in primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine)
- minimum of 1 year of post-graduate clinical experience/direct patient care within the last 3 years
- Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
- US Citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with MEPS or military medical evaluations
- Familiarity with DoD medical standards and protocols
- Proficiency with the MHS Genesis electronic health records system
