Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive face-to-face medical examinations, aptitude testing, and security screenings for military applicants in strict compliance with Department of Defense and MEPS protocols. Review medical histories, lab results, and imaging data to evaluate fitness for duty, identify disqualifying conditions, and render professional medical opinions on eligibility. Document findings accurately using the MHS Genesis health record system and complete required reports within established timelines while collaborating with MEPS staff to ensure smooth processing. Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality, ethical standards, and all applicable installation policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or APP with degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certified and Board Eligible
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Board certification in primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine)
- Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate clinical experience/direct patient care within the last 3 years
- Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
- US Citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with MEPS or military medical evaluations
- Familiarity with DoD medical standards and protocols
- Proficiency with the MHS Genesis electronic health records system
