Job Summary
Milieu Specialist role providing de-escalation and support strategies in a crisis-care setting to prevent seclusion/restraint and deliver No-Force-First recovery. Responsibilities include observing guests, developing natural supports for community living, assisting with food service and hygiene, conducting room safety checks, responding to critical situations, completing clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and collaborating on admissions, discharges, and transfers. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, active Food Handler’s Certification, and at least 2 years of behavioral health/crisis experience preferred; ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and state fingerprinting as part of onboarding. Shifts are PRN, 7:00pm–7:30am, at Crisis Care Center in Columbus, OH; travel and varied shifts may be involved. The organization emphasizes peer-powered support and a second-chance employment approach.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active and valid Food Handler’s Certification required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to pass seven-year background check
- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable)
- Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states
