Job Summary
Migrant Records Clerk responsibilities include enrolling eligible migrant students into the MSIS, processing all MSIS forms, maintaining and updating student records (educational and health), withdrawing students as needed, coordinating with building staff and district personnel, ensuring COEs are completed timely, delivering updated migrant lists with Migrant Funded staff, and providing Spanish interpretation as needed. The role supports program documentation, communications with families, and collaboration with Special Programs staff, nursing, home visitors, and district offices, with clerical duties such as data entry, recordkeeping, and service to public records requests as assigned. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, strong organizational and confidentiality skills, and proficiency with standard office software.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong written and verbal communication in both languages
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with office technology (multiline phones, scanners, cameras, projectors, web-based apps)
- Clerical skills in recordkeeping, filing, data entry and documentation
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work with diverse populations
- Experience with accessing and managing student data systems (MSIS) is preferred
