Job Summary
MIG Welder position responsible for building/fabricating, measuring/c cutting and welding trailer components (doors, floors, sidewalls, slats) using MIG and/or TIG welding. Reads blueprints/diagrams and works with various tools to construct components, verify conformance to specifications, and produce quality parts in a lean manufacturing environment. Must read tapes for precise measurements (to 1/16 inch), operate machines (tube benders, bandsaws, plasma torches, etc.), and collaborate with sheet metal workers, welders, and supervisors. Emphasis on maintaining productivity, safety, and cleanliness; willing to float to other departments; adhere to company policies; strong work ethic and ability to perform repetitive tasks in a physically demanding setting. Safety PPE required; ability to stand long shifts, lift up to 75 lbs with team lifting as needed; exposure to loud environments and welding fumes; willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- MIG welding experience
- Aluminum TIG welding experience
- Ability to read a tape measure with precision (to 1/16 of an inch)
- Proficient in using plasma torch and other welding tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with team and other departments
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Regular attendance as a critical function of the job
- Physical ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Safety PPE usage including safety glasses, safety toe shoes, welding hood, hearing protection
