MIG Welder - Girth Seam

Job Summary

Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on steel components and long girth seams in 2G and 3G positions while maintaining consistent quality and penetration. Set up and adjust welding equipment based on material type and thickness, then read and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), blueprints, and weld symbols to ensure compliance with required codes. Conduct visual inspections of welds, complete minor grinding and cleanup, and maintain equipment in safe working condition. Follow all safety procedures and meet production targets without compromising quality. Work the day shift from 5:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience with MIG (GMAW) welding in a production environment
  • Ability to maintain consistent weld quality over repetitive work
  • Basic understanding of weld settings (voltage, wire speed, gas flow)
  • Ability to read basic blueprints or weld symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Dependable and able to maintain steady performance throughout shift
  • Commitment to working safely in an industrial environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength
  • Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively
  • Adequate visual and auditory acuity
  • Criminal background check clearance
  • Pass a pre-hire drug screen
  • Completion of physical assessment
  • Participation in each step of the pre-employment process

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience welding structural steel or heavy gauge materials
  • Familiarity with FCAW or other welding processes
  • Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments
