Job Summary
Midstream Operations Technician responsibilities include maintaining a safe operating environment and performing routine duties across the midstream gathering system (compression, pipelines, dehydration, measurement, appurtenances). Duties include operating, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on pipelines, natural gas engines, electric motors, dehydration equipment, and gas compressors; conducting leak surveys and repairs, methanol/odorant injection, valve maintenance, pigging, line locating, and coordinating shutdowns with the construction department. Documentation of information in a computerized database for work orders, field data collection, and compliance reporting; participation in Pre-Safety Startup Reviews (PSSR) and SIMOPS; and transferring ownership of new facilities and assets. Requires at least 1 year of related natural gas industry experience, basic computer skills, detail orientation, ability to work autonomously at times, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Education: High School Diploma / GED. DOT PHMSA/FMCSA regulatory environment experience is noted as part of working conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- At least 1 year of related work experience in the natural gas industry; pipeline, storage, and facility operations
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Products
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and research skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision at times
- Must be a team player, self-motivated with high level of energy and initiative
