Job Summary
Midstream Mechanic responsible for field maintenance of rotating equipment in midstream gas compression/gathering assets. Performs preventive/predictive maintenance on gas/air compressors, pumps, IC engines, fin fans, gear boxes, electric motors, valves and basic controls. Conducts inspections for vibration, leaks, unusual noise, wear, and corrosion; troubleshoots performance issues; performs alignment, packing replacement, lubrication sampling, bearing inspections, and overhauls per manufacturer guidance. Reads P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, blueprints, and isometric drawings; familiar with gas processing terminology and safety practices; supports reliability programs and continuous improvement; communicates with technical specialists, planning, scheduling, and supply chain. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, 5+ years of mechanical experience (associates or technical degree preferred), and willingness to work overtime/on-call. Relocation options may be considered. North Dakota field-based role with experience on reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, engines, and pumps; strong SAP skills recommended; able to operate related equipment; committed to safety and EHS procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience in maintenance and repair of gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, IC engines, fin fans, gear boxes, electric motors, valves and basic controls
- Strong knowledge of EHS procedures (Permit to Work, Energy Isolation, PPE, Emergency Response)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, blueprints, and isometrics
- 5+ years mechanical experience in oil/gas or related field (preferred industrial/oilfield experience)
- Willing to work overtime and rotating call-out
