Job Summary
Conduct daily track maintenance and repair activities in an active industrial rail environment. Drive spikes, move and replace railroad cross ties, adjust switches, and check track alignment and gauge. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment while inspecting work areas for hazards and reporting concerns. Wear required personal protective equipment and follow strict safety procedures throughout the shift. Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and walking on uneven terrain. Work fixed hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, with overtime available based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation
- Strong attendance and dependability
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and active rail infrastructure
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy equipment and materials
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities safely and effectively
- Ability to follow safety rules, operating procedures, and instructions
- Ability to participate in Railserve's pre-employment screening process
