Job Summary
Mechanic for Midland Asphalt Materials Inc. at the Tonawanda, NY facility. Performs fleet maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine work. Road tests, inspects, diagnoses, tunes and repairs diesel engines; fabricates parts and up-fits equipment; updates carburetors, fuel injection, and electrical systems; repairs hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies; restores braking systems, transmissions, and drive trains; uses welding/cutting to repair or modify equipment; assists other technicians; orders parts, keeps time/expense records, performs on-site field repairs, and other duties as assigned by the lead mechanic.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Good driving record
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one
- 1-2 years’ experience or degree in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Diesel Technology (in lieu of experience) is preferred
