Job Summary
Assist in the Middle School Track & Field program by supporting the head coach in implementing program philosophy, promoting the sport within the district and community, enforcing rules and expectations for student athletes and parents, and ensuring safety and welfare of participants. Responsibilities include supervising athletes during practices, traveling on away trips, planning organized practices with proper conditioning and fundamentals, developing athletes' skills and integrity, modeling respectful behavior in line with Pursuing Victory with Honor, following athletic handbook policies, collaborating with staff, booster clubs, and the media, and assisting with inventory of equipment and uniforms. Preferred qualifications include a current AZ teacher certificate and CPR/First Aid certification, with emphasis on organizational skills and the ability to relate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold current CPR/First Aid certification
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, student athletes, officials and media to promote a positive image of District activity
- Such alternatives as the Governing Board may find appropriate, acceptable and reasonable.
