Job Summary
Middle school track coach role focused on instruction and coaching of student athletes to develop skills in the assigned sport. Responsibilities include using diverse instructional techniques and media, supervising athletic activities and travel planning, coordinating with school staff to meet instructional goals, establishing performance criteria for competition, enforcing safety protocols, and modeling sportsmanship. Requires knowledge of coaching techniques, KSHSAA rules, NFHS coaching fundamentals, and current first aid/CPR/AED certification; experience coaching or participating in the sport is preferred. Maintains communication with parents and staff, adheres to district safety procedures and policies, and supports ongoing evaluation and improvement of the coaching program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (not required for Rule 10 Coaches)
- Valid Kansas teaching certificate (not required for Rule 10 Coaches)
- Current first aid, CPR, and AED certification or training
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching (Required course completion for Rule 10 Coaches)
- Coaching experience or participant experience in sport assigned (preferred)
