Job Summary
Middle School ELA teacher responsible for delivering an inclusive, culturally responsive English Language Arts instruction to urban middle school students. You'll guide students to analyze texts, assess author’s purpose, and write across genres, while fostering student voice in discourse. Responsibilities include data analysis with a principal/coach to differentiate instruction, building positive relationships and partnering with families to support learning needs, and participating in weekly school-wide meetings and ongoing professional development to model core values and student achievement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must pass state teacher certification tests to meet MA state requirements
- All Commonwealth charter teachers must have either an MA educator’s license or pass MTELs including Communications and Literacy MTEL, Subject Specific MTEL, and MTEL SEI Endorsement within first year of employment
- All core academic teachers teaching English learners must earn the SEI endorsement (SEI) and have one year from assignment to teach ELs to earn MTEL SEI endorsement
