Job Summary

Deliver specified course content and create an environment fostering high standards in learning, creativity, and personal growth. Organize and implement an instructional program that results in academic success, utilizing asynchronous and synchronous tools to supplement curriculum. Create and deliver live and recorded instructional sessions while maintaining regular office hours for one-on-one and small group support. Augment course content through remediation, modification, and enrichment, and partner with special education staff to implement IEPs, ALPs, and 504s. Grade student work, administer assessments including MAP and CMAS, and communicate with parents through conferences and various channels. Collaborate with instructional staff, provide leadership to extra-curricular activities, and maintain professional competence through embedded staff development and university courses.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful experience working with secondary-age students
  • Experience with curriculum, assessment, staff development, and online learning
  • Experience with effective use of technology with teachers and/or students supporting educational technology initiatives
  • Awareness, understanding, and application of a guaranteed and viable curriculum
  • Previous experience or current thinking about culturally responsive teaching that relates to achievement issues for all students
  • Demonstrated success using technology to ensure technological literate students
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited program
  • Colorado Department of Education Teaching License in content area
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited program PLUS passing score on the Praxis Exam(s) as accepted by the Colorado Department of Education for the content area(s) assigned
  • In-Field Status as accepted by the Colorado Department of Education for the content area(s) assigned
  • Completion of training required under the Colorado READ Act prior to first day with students for all positions listed with the Colorado Department of Education
  • Demonstrated success in both classroom and online instruction using best practices and research-based strategies
  • Proficient with educational technology platforms such as Blackboard, Google Classroom, MS Excel, and Word
  • Knowledge of Colorado Model Content Standards, Grade Level Expectations, and various formative and summative assessment methods
  • Skilled in interpreting and utilizing assessment data to inform instruction
  • Able to design and implement differentiated instruction using a range of instructional strategies (e.g., direct instruction, inquiry, cooperative learning)
  • Deep understanding of subject matter and ability to connect content across disciplines and real-world contexts
  • Committed to student-centered instruction through modeling, guided practice, and checking for understanding
  • Flexible, self-motivated, ethical, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Works effectively with diverse stakeholders, including school staff, district personnel, students, parents, and vendors

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years teaching experience
  • Master's degree in education or content area
