Middle School Teacher - Social Studies

Job Summary
Instruct students in Social Studies using lecture, audiovisual aids, and demonstrations while planning and implementing lessons aligned with state and local curriculum guidelines. Assign lessons, correct homework, administer tests to evaluate progress, and issue reports to parents. Maintain discipline in the classroom and supervise student behavior in halls, on buses, and during lunch. Prepare course outlines and objectives, conduct parent-teacher conferences to review performance and behavior problems, and participate in faculty meetings and professional workshops. Requires a Bachelor's degree, Georgia T-4 to T-7 certification, and one year of teaching experience. Involves standing and walking seven to seven and a half hours daily in a normal school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC
- Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day
- Normal classroom/school setting
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience
