Job Summary
Special Education teacher responsible for modifying, differentiating, and delivering an inclusive curriculum; develop and implement 504 plans and IEPs with families and Special Education teams; manage a caseload of IEPs, gather growth data, write IEPs, and participate in IEP meetings; deliver pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction; build positive relationships with students and families; participate in weekly meetings, practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching; collaborate with grade-level teams to set academic goals and instructional strategies; support students' social-emotional and academic development; required to have a bachelor's degree and meet NY certification eligibility and certification within a reasonable period after starting; compensation between $72,000 and $115,000; generous benefits and comprehensive professional development; locations include New York City area, with in-person work as remoteOption.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher during employment if not currently holding an education degree
- Must meet NY state certification eligibility requirements and become certified in New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment
