Job Summary
Great Oaks Legacy Charter School seeks Middle School Special Education Teachers for grades 5-8 for the 2026-27 academic year. Teachers are responsible for high expectations in student learning, demonstrating content mastery, and using engaging instructional strategies. Duties include tracking student data, building positive classroom environments, enforcing school rules, and making parent communications. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, strong classroom management skills, and New Jersey Department of Education certification or out-of-state certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university
- GPA must meet minimum requirements for NJ DOE certification
- Demonstrated mastery of content knowledge and ability to drive student growth
- Extremely strong classroom management abilities
- Evidence of NJ Department of Education certification (CE/CEAS/Provisional/Standard) or out of state certification
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in an urban No Excuses school setting strongly preferred
- Experience developing curriculum or potential to lead curricular development is strongly preferred
