Job Summary
Middle School Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher responsible for developing, implementing, and managing IEPs in compliance with IDEA timelines; conducting FBAs and creating/modifying BIPs; delivering individualized instruction via push-in co-teaching with 28-32 students and pull-out groups of 6-8; implementing research-based interventions (Lexia Core5, RAP 95, PLL, Zearn) and aligning instruction with Bridges and Amplify; collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports; coaching/paraprofessional development; building strong relationships with scholars and families grounded in culturally responsive practices; and upholding data-driven planning, rigorous instruction, and timely re-teaching while modeling PEAK values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree
- Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
- Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
- If your license is from another state, you will need to have the transfer complete before the first day of work
