Job Summary
Plan and co-teach with regular education teachers in Math, Humanities, and Science to meet individual IEP goals. Modify lessons, projects, and assessments to accommodate student learning needs while monitoring progress toward standards. Provide organizational support and skill development in small-group, pull-out settings. Coordinate meetings with colleagues, parents, and team members to discuss student progress. Stay current on disabilities including ADHD, LD, Dyslexia, and depression. Demonstrate strong communication skills to build rapport with the school community while honoring confidentiality. Perform case management duties under supervision, teach clubs as needed, and fulfill lunch duty or other assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education Certification
- Elementary Grades Special Education Teacher, K-8
- Middle Grades Special Education Teacher, 5-8 OR
- Secondary Grades Special Education Teacher, 6-12
- National background check
- Citizenship, residency or work visa
