Job Summary
Provide direct instruction and academic support for students with social-emotional disabilities under Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in special education and general education settings; modify materials and classroom environments under direction of the Special Education teacher; support student relationships and peer interactions; implement Behavior Intervention Plans and de-escalation strategies; monitor and document progress, collaborate with teachers and related staff, and assist with clerical duties; duties may include data collection, crisis prevention, and ensuring safety and consistency in daily routines; position located at Vikan Middle School in Brighton, CO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with students with social and/or emotional disabilities preferred but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred at time of hire or able to obtain within 2 months of hire.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
- Valid driver’s license is required to obtain a small vehicle permit, if required to transport students.
