Middle School Special Education Associate (2026-2027 School Year)

Special Education Instructional Associate providing support to one or a few handicapped pupils under the supervision of the Special Education teacher. Responsibilities include assisting with physical tasks (putting on/taking off outerwear, moving between rooms, toileting), guiding and helping students without teaching, reinforcing material with small groups, accompanying students to offices or nurse visits, supervising playtime, organizing group activities, distributing and collecting materials, administering and recording achievement tests as recommended, assisting with lunch and restroom routines, and maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with administration, teachers, and staff to promote a positive school environment and to serve as a resource for the student personnel evaluation team, with duties spanning classroom support, behavior and safety tasks, and basic tech usage for documentation and trainings.
