Job Summary
Plan, evaluate and revise Spanish curricula and instructional content for 6-8; implement Iowa Core-aligned language instruction; employ diverse instructional methods; assess student progress and provide reports; promote student engagement and culturally authentic language learning; supervise and evaluate student work and maintain records; collaborate with colleagues and communicate with parents; stay current in foreign language education and participate in staff meetings and professional development; provide appropriate materials and support for substitute teachers; maintain regular attendance and professional demeanor; serve as an advisor to student organizations; assist administration with school policies and student life procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Meet certification requirements of the Department of Education, State of Iowa
- K-8 or 5-12 Spanish Endorsement
- Knowledge/Skills: Able to communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Able to work independently and/or as a team to complete tasks and meet goals
- Able to prioritize, organize and accomplish assigned work
