Job Summary
Head Coach for the Window Rock Unified School District middle school softball program. Responsibilities include leading and developing student-athletes, ensuring safety and compliance with district requirements, coordinating NFHS coaching certifications and safety training, and fostering sportsmanship and teamwork within the program. Requires Arizona Teaching Certificate and/or NFHS Level 3 Certification, fingerprint clearance, and completion of required safety courses (Concussion in Sports, First Aid/CPR, Heat Illness Prevention, Protecting Students from Abuse, etc.). The role is part-time and based in Fort Defiance, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- Arizona Teaching Certificate and/or NFHS Level 3 Certification (Fundamentals of Coaching, First Aid/Health and Safety, Protecting Students from Abuse, Concussion in Sports, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness Prevention, Bullying/Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors, Strength and Conditioning, Teaching and Modeling Behavior, Engaging Effectively with Parents, Sportsmanship, Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Sport Specific Course or Teaching of Sport Skills if sport not offered)
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching (for certified/non-certified head coaches)
- First Aid/CPR
- Concussion in Sports
- NFHS Heads Up Football courses for WRUSD #8 football coaches
- Arizona teaching credential if applicable
