Job Summary
Middle School Science Teacher responsibilities include delivering an NGSS-aligned interdisciplinary science program, covering topics such as climate systems, Earth science, matter and energy, electricity and magnetism, and ecological systems. You will develop students' abilities in questioning, modeling, data analysis, constructing explanations, and conducting interactive labs; differentiate instruction; participate in weekly instructional and coaching sessions; build positive relationships with students and families; collaborate with grade-level teams to set academic goals and apply effective instructional strategies; and contribute to school-wide efforts, culture, and professional development. Qualifications emphasize a bachelor’s degree, NJ certification eligibility (certification not prerequisite in NJ but required within a reasonable period after start), and a genuine interest in supporting urban K-12 students with 1-2 years of experience preferred. Compensation ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 with comprehensive benefits; full-time position in New Jersey with onsite responsibilities at Swedesboro location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA thresholds) or equivalent
- Teacher certification not prerequisite in NJ but must meet certification eligibility requirements
- Full-time teaching experience preferred (1-2 years)
- Demonstrated commitment to social-emotional and academic development of students
- Interest in impacting K-12 urban students
- Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
