Job Summary
Middle School Science Teacher responsible for delivering an NGSS-aligned, interdisciplinary science program; develop inquiry-based lessons covering topics like climate and Earth’s systems, astronomy, matter and energy, electricity and magnetism, and ecosystems; guide students through data analysis, modeling, constructing explanations, and conducting interactive labs; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners; collaborate weekly with principal/coach, grade-level teams, and families; participate in weekly school-wide meetings and professional development to support student achievement and socio-emotional growth; support campus culture and equity initiatives while aligning to NY certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NY state certification eligibility requirements
- enrollment in a teacher preparation program and maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher if not educated in-state
- becoming certified in New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment
