Job Summary
Middle School Science teacher at Uncommon Schools. Teach an NGSS-aligned, interdisciplinary science curriculum to middle school students, focusing on climate and Earth’s systems, matter and energy, electricity and magnetism, molecular and ecological systems. Develop students’ inquiry skills through modeling, data analysis, and interactive labs; differentiate instruction; foster student discourse; and build strong relationships with families. Collaborate with grade-level teams to set academic goals and participate in weekly instructional coaching and professional development. Requires a bachelor’s degree and NJ certification eligibility; certification is required within a reasonable period after starting employment. Salary ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 with comprehensive benefits; location: Moorestown, NJ (in-person).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (teacher certification not prerequisite)
- All instructional staff are required to become certified in New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
- 1-2 years experience in impacting K-12 students in urban schools (preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
- Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
