Job Summary
The Middle School Science Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with district curriculum and state standards, differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs, and use data-informed instructional practices. The role requires managing a positive classroom environment, assessing student performance, engaging families and colleagues, and participating in professional development and district activities. Experience with Mi-STAR curriculum and collaboration with families and the school community are emphasized, along with maintaining attendance records and student grades.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate, Science Endorsement
- Demonstrated coursework and/or specific experience necessary for posted assignment
- Able to plan for and deliver effective instruction, manage student behavior and classroom environment, assess productively, and self-reflect on instructional effectiveness
- Have experience with, or have a working knowledge of Mi-STAR science curriculum and instructional delivery
- Demonstrated evidence of recent coursework and/or in-service activities directed toward improving professional competence
