Job Summary
Instruct assigned classes in science grades 5-9 at designated locations and times while establishing a learning environment conducive to student growth. Plan individualized programs of study, employ varied instructional techniques, and guide lessons toward curriculum goals. Assess student accomplishments regularly, maintain accurate records, and enforce classroom behavior standards. Prepare for classes with written evidence, supervise instructional aides, and attend staff meetings. Make provisions for availability to students and parents outside the instructional day when requested.
Required Qualifications
- Kentucky teaching certificate in Science grades 5-9
- College or university letter of acceptance for an alternative route to certification for Science grades 5-9
- Letter of explanation for new graduates who do not have a teaching certificate
- Description of certification in the letter of explanation
- Graduation date in the letter of explanation
- University name in the letter of explanation
- Status with regard to obtaining teacher certification in the letter of explanation
- Bachelor's Degree in field of assignment
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for area and grade level of assignment
