Job Summary
Middle School Science Teacher responsible for delivering district-aligned science instruction, developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student learning, and collaborating with staff to support diverse learners. Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, plus demonstrated competency in the science subject area and at least one year of student teaching or internship. Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, using varied instructional strategies, assessing student achievement, coordinating with special education staff for IEPs, managing classroom environment, and supporting extracurricular activities. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with parents and colleagues; adherence to district policies and TEA guidelines. Supervises instructional aides and maintains required records; participates in staff development and faculty activities. Location: LUFKIN, Texas (IN_PERSON).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- One year student teaching or approved internship
