Job Summary
Teach assigned subject matter using the LRSD Curriculum Guides and Board-adopted course of study, planning and delivering active learning experiences that integrate STEM concepts and inquiry methodologies. Manage classroom procedures, student behavior, and physical space while employing questioning techniques and technology to engage learners and assess progress. Communicate effectively with management, families, and staff to maintain accurate records and contribute to district-wide goals. Maintain a culture of learning through appropriate disciplinary measures and professional development. Perform this nine-and-one-quarter month contract role (190 days) with an Arkansas teacher's license, Bachelor's degree, and electronic portfolio demonstrating instructional competence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university teacher education program
- Arkansas teacher's license appropriate for level and/or subject area assignment
- Competence in the total teaching experience demonstrated in the submission of an electronic portfolio that highlights designing coherent instruction, the use of questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, and the incorporation of technology in the classroom
- Relevant teaching experience
- Working knowledge of relevant technology
- Ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period
- Ability to be physically present and at assigned work
- Ability to have only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year
