Middle School Science Teacher

Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned units across life, earth, and physical sciences that promote inquiry and problem-solving. Facilitate hands-on labs, experiments, engineering challenges, and data-driven investigations while ensuring lab safety and materials compliance. Use MAP, NWEA, and internal assessment data to differentiate instruction, close achievement gaps, and maintain accurate gradebooks with actionable feedback. Serve as a Kairos Coach, mentoring a pod of students weekly to support executive functioning and goal-setting. Partner with grade-level teams to align curriculum and assessments, participate in professional learning communities, and contribute to whole-school service roles such as STEM or Safety Lead. Communicate proactively with families to celebrate progress and address challenges. Work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends for family engagement and tutoring events.
